Types of Internet Service:

  1. Broadband

  • Fiber optic
  1. Broadband Alternatives

  • Dial-up Internets
  • WISP (Wireless Internet Service Provider)

DSL:

Digital subscriber Line uses your phone line to deliver internet with high speed. DSL uses separate frequencies for phone and internet. We can use Phone as well as the Internet at the same time.

Pros:

  • Available widely
  • When compared to Fiber and satellite service, it is affordable

Cons:

  • Download speed is slower than the speed mentioned by the service providers
  • It was very slow than Fiber and Cable

Cable:

It uses cable wires rather than telephone wires to deliver a faster internet.

Pros:

  • Reliable than DSL
  • Depending on your package, it is faster than DSL and Fiber Optic

Cons:

  • Cables are not available for more regions, if available, there may be one or two service providers only.
  • More Costly

Fiber Optic:

Fiber optic does not use existing cables or telephone line, so it is not widely available.  It needs to install a new fiber cable to provide service in an area. These fiber optic cables use tiny glass and light to send and receive data

Pros:

  • Fastest upload speed and download speed than Cables and DSL.

Cons:

  • Not available Widely

Dial-up:

It connects the internet through your telephone line which is moreover similar to DSL, but the main difference is, it uses the same frequency for Phone and internet so that we can’t able to use phone and Internet at the same time.

WISP:

Wireless ISP is an Internet Service provider which helps the users to connect to the internet through a designated hotspot using a wireless Connections (Wi-Fi).

Those are the details of the Internet available frequently. In order to choose the best Internet plan, you need to do these following things.

  • Analyze how much of Internet Speed you need
  • Available Options in your Area
  • Pros and cons of those options available
  • Find a package in the company which fits your style

Based on these process, first, analyze your usage habits and choose the Internet plan according to your usage. If you use internet only for sending and receiving Emails, you can choose a light package. If you need internet for Download and upload purposes, you can choose a High package.

It’s always better to select an internet plan which serves you correctly. If you use the low internet and you have a high package means, it’s a waste of Internet and Money and vice versa.
